A Mission, Now a Cause

Turning dreams into reality is what Divine Events Creators is all about, says Gladys Falto, chief executive of the Goshen Main Street company. The Miracle Creator has been in SongSong for about a year now and has become a success story.

“Our business focuses on helping people have a beautiful and stress-free event, such as a wedding, sweet 16th birthday, bridal or baby shower, birthday or corporate event,” says Falto.

The family owned business handles all aspects including decorating, hiring a caterer, baker, DJ, photographer, two photo booths, chairs, tables and tent rental. She relies heavily on local businesses.

“We create an event from the ground up—from designing an inviting and decorative entrance, to fitting the room with appropriate décor, to hiring all the vendors,” says Falto. “Every design is unique to our client. We design every centerpiece and background from scratch. We don’t want our designs to copy someone else’s.”

After taking care of all aspects of her own wedding, including design and decoration, Falto realized she wouldn’t be able to enjoy the special day; however, friends were impressed with what she had done and began asking her to take care of not only the wedding, but other reunion. While she loves helping friends and others, Falto sees a bigger picture: her services are needed.

After working as an accountant, Falto decided to pursue his dream: design and event planning. “This business is my passion, my talent. I love it!” she says.

When speaking with a potential client before an appointment, Falto says she listens carefully to any thoughts he or she may have. When meeting with a client, Falto prepares a sample of what she thinks the client might be interested in, such as a decorated table or a suitable backdrop. It’s during this meeting that she gets to know her client’s perspective on extramarital affairs, and together they decide on the final look. Also at this meeting, they discussed the budget, according to which Falto and the client determined all the functions of the event.

Falto’s involvement doesn’t stop there. “I stay in touch with my clients to make sure we’re still on the same page. Staying in touch reassures them that everything will work out the way they dreamed,” she says.

Gladys and her husband, Hector, came to Goshen from Middletown, where they have lived for 22 years. They have four children: Jeremy, Amber, Tristan, Seth and a grandson, Legend.

Hector and Gladys have been married for 32 years. “It’s my muscle . . . he is my rock and my biggest supporter,” Falto said of her husband. All family members are part of the business, helping set up events, loading and unloading trailers, setting up decorations and tables and chairs. “We’re a complete team,” she said.

Divine Events Creators have become known as the creators of the “Balloon Arch”. For the grand opening of the store on October 1st. On January 30, 2021, Falto created a balloon arch over the doorway. People who saw it started asking for the Balloon Arch, for which she is now famous. She often changes the design and color of the doorway to match the festive colors.

Now Falto has a venue at the location of her showroom that can seat 40 guests. This area accommodates tables, chairs and decorations and is equipped with cooking facilities.

“We are a family-oriented company. Every client is special to us. We are so grateful to be allowed to be a part of their special day,” says Falto.
