Alzheimer’s Association and Better Business Bureau Partner to Launch Educational Series on Alzheimer’s Awareness, Scam Prevention

Hastings, Nebraska (KSNB) – The Nebraska chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) ​​are pleased to announce their partnership to offer a three-part A virtual educational series titled, “The more you know” throughout February.

The series, open to all Nebraskans, will cover the warning signs of Alzheimer’s, how to spot financial fraud, and provide available tools and resources. The series will feature Alzheimer’s and financial experts for free. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the series of courses.

There are currently 35,000 Nebraskans over the age of 65 living with Alzheimer’s disease, and 61,000 caregivers have provided 51 million hours of unpaid care. As fraud is a multi-billion dollar industry, the BBB continues to receive thousands of scam reports to its Scam Tracker, according to its latest BBB Scam Tracker Risk Report.
