Aspen Technology and Saudi Aramco collaborate on new CO2 capture and utilization software

Industrial software company Aspen Technology announced in December. 13 Launched innovative carbon capture and utilization software in partnership with integrated energy and chemicals company Saudi Aramco. Integrated modeling and optimization solutions will enable capital-intensive industries to find practical and economical solutions for carbon capture and utilization (CCU).

The software is designed to enable businesses to make evidence-based decisions to support the adoption of CO2 management strategies that optimize and accelerate sustainable operations.

The new product is based on technology developed by Saudi Aramco in cooperation with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). The company’s subsidiary, Saudi Aramco Technologies Company (SATC), has licensed the technology to Aspen Technology as part of its broader capabilities to optimize CO2 emission reductions.
