$8,000,000 property is most expensive property ever sold by Berkshire MLS

Alford– Nestled in the hills of Alford sits a fairytale house straight out of the Cotswolds or English Tudors. This amazing handcrafted home was built in 2011 by John W. Littlechild and his wife A. Ruth Littlechild, and features a stone-clad English guest cottage, garage and typical red barn.

The property was recently purchased for $8,000,000 by Kenneth A. Rosen and Lisa A. Rosen of Boca Raton, Florida. It is believed to be the most expensive property Berkshire has ever sold through its multiple listing service. Realtor Nikki Carchedi of Stone House Properties is both the listing agent and the selling agent.

gentlemen. Rosen is the founder and CEO of Boca Raton-based Infinity Sales Group, a telecommunications and broadband services company. The Rosens are no strangers to buying and selling real estate, though. They built an oceanfront mansion in Miami Beach that hit the market in 2017 for $22.5 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. Their Mediterranean-style home in Boca Raton, Florida, listed for sale in July 2021 for $14.8 million, according to Mansion Global. July 2021.

When Berkshire Fringe asked what drew them to Berkshire, Mr. Rosen replied that they knew Berkshire well. A former New Yorker, he discovered western Massachusetts when he came to Springfield to attend American International College. He and his wife have family in Rhinebeck and many friends in the area. They look forward to getting to know the area better and enjoying all it has to offer.

The Alford property is impressive. The main house is situated on a mile-long driveway with trees and sweeping views of the surrounding hillsides. The 16-room house has a total of 9,280 square feet and sits on 71.59 acres.

Berkshire Environmental Action Team Debuts Expanded Berkshire Green Beverages

Pittsfield— After nearly 15 years of hosting the Pittsfield Green Drinks monthly meetup, the Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) is expanding their Green Drinks from Pittsfield to the entire county, making it the “Berkshire Green drinks”. Before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pittsfield Green Drinks was only held at one restaurant or bar in Pittsfield. Beginning in 2023, BEAT will begin changing their live meetup locations to different towns throughout Berkshire County on a monthly basis. They also changed the monthly event to the second Wednesday of each month instead of the third Tuesday.

The first-ever Berkshire Green Drinks will be held on Zoom on Wednesday, January 11 at 6 p.m., with Robin Sears, executive director of Williamstown Rural Lands, speaking about the mission, activities and responsibilities of the local land trust. She will provide an overview of the ways in which our natural environment and local populations are changing, and consider management options for land stewards to respond to and anticipate ecosystem resilience needs. Strong Little Souls Receives Donation from Talking Rain Beverage Company

Pittsfield— Talking Rain Beverage Company, maker of Sparkling Ice® beverages, today announced the three winning charities for its second annual holiday giving program, “Cheers to Giving,” an event that celebrates nonprofits making a difference in their communities. New short-term rental property registration requirements in Great Barrington

great barrington— Great Barrington will soon begin contacting short-term rental (STR) landlords who must comply with new STR registration requirements in the early months of 2023.

The registration process is expected to begin on January 1. 1, but Town Manager Mark Pruhenski said the online registration setup is a little behind schedule. The town will contact property owners who need to register by mail to start the process, Pruhenski said.

The town will also develop a registration fee schedule.

A new town bylaw passed this year restricts certain types of short-term rental businesses in towns. The town has contracted with an outside company, GovOS, to register properties that comply with the new regulations. These attributes are now being identified using technology provided by GovOS. The Town’s Short-Term Rental (STR) Bylaws can be found here. The town contact for STR matters will be Stephen Browning, the town’s health inspector.
