CRYSTAL FALLS, Mich. (WLUC) – With the 2022 firearm deer season underway, the Crystal Falls Business Association (CFBA) hosted its second annual Buckfest on Saturday.
The event is held at Crystal Falls behind the Crystal Theater. During the event, more than five deer were brought in. It was a competition, and whoever led the heaviest deer got the most points.
Buckfest isn’t just for adults, there are youth contests and gun raffles as well as hot food and drinks.
CFBA also made sure attendees stayed warm by adding two fire pits.
Organizers say their main goal is to have an event that does two things. One is to have a competitive event and the other is to have an event that brings the community together.
Organizers hope that Buckfast will continue and be part of the Crystal Falls tradition.
