Executive Director of Alumni Relations, MIT

Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with MIT in its search for an Executive Director of Alumni Relations.

Reporting to the CEO of the MIT Alumni Association, the Executive Director of Alumni Relations will lead and oversee the Office of Alumni Relations, planning and executing strategy and vision related to alumni engagement. The Executive Director will develop and implement comprehensive and innovative alumni relations programs and volunteer support services that leverage the institution’s rich and diverse resources to provide value to MIT’s nearly 145,000 alumni of nearly 145,000 geographically diverse alumni with a wide range of personal and professional interests.

The Executive Director will provide guidance based on significant experience in the field of alumni relations, including understanding the critical impact of alumni and donor relations in advancing a leading research university; with MIT alumni and friends, as well as with Resource Development, the Office of the President, and the Office of the President , the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, the Board of Trustees, and other senior leadership across the College; and bring energy, vision, and diplomacy to the position, while creating an inclusive and equitable workplace that represents, Support, empower and celebrate diversity.

The MIT Alumni Association (MITAA) supports the Institute’s alumni with the vision of “engaging and inspiring the global MIT community to create a better world.” A network of 145,000 of the world’s most talented alumni in STEM, the mission of the MIT Alumni Association is to help alumni strengthen these connections and connect alumni to the Institute and to each other by providing a range of services and resources. The MIT Alumni Association is overseen by dedicated staff and advised by a diverse Board of Directors.

The position requires a combination of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and experience with at least ten years of direct experience in alumni relations, fundraising, or nonprofit volunteer leadership development, including four years of staff supervisory experience. Based on years of experience, the annual salary range for this position is $200,000 to $250,000.
