George Conway, a prominent lawyer and critic of former President Donald Trump, has predicted Trump will run again in 2024 to shield him from legal troubles.

Conway appeared on CNN Wednesday with Alyssa Farah Griffin, Trump’s former communications director.

“He’s going to run for president, really, to protect from these legal actions, but they’re going to be too many,” Conway said.

“You know, I think he’s likely to be nominated anyway, but I think we’re going to see a breakdown to end all the breakdowns of public figures,” Conway added.

On the show, CNN host Anderson Cooper asked Griffin and Conway if they thought Trump’s choice of legal case against him was a “knockout.”

In response, Griffin referred to a CNN article published Wednesday in which Trump was weighing whether to have federal investigators search his Mar-a-Lago estate again.

“It was a series of desperation,” Griffin said.

“The man was cornered at every turn, he wasn’t surrounded by a sensible legal committee, so I think you’re going to see further desperate behaviour from him,” she added.
