On Friday, local MPP Mike Schreiner and the Innovation Guelph team will learn more about a $55,900 Resilience Community Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) to equip meeting rooms with hybrid technology and enhanced cleaning to recreate Post-pandemic spaces for open events and coworking. When the project is completed in March 2023, entrepreneurs will be able to safely and better participate in Innovation Guelph’s projects, events and spaces.
“As a member of the Guelph Provincial Council, I would like to congratulate Innovate Guelph on receiving a Resilient Communities Fund grant,” said Mike Schreiner. “I have had the privilege of working with Innovation Guelph on many occasions and I am always impressed by how much they go above and beyond to support the people and businesses in our community. This grant will allow them to Initiatives continue to serve the people of Guelph. Thank you Innovation Guelph for your continued efforts!”
In addition to installing speakers, Innovation Guelph also installed large-screen TVs and sound barriers in the meeting spaces. To complement the new facility and make the space truly hybrid, multiple Owl Labs 360-degree cameras equipped with noise-canceling microphones were purchased to allow remote participants to feel fully engaged during the show delivery. Funds are also used to provide optimized ongoing cleaning and disinfection protocols and the personal protective equipment needed to protect on-site attendees and staff. Participants and entrepreneurs will have secure remote and in-person access to programming thanks to a $55,900 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
“The Ontario Trillium Foundation grant means more people can join us remotely and attend events that were previously only available in person,” said Innovation Guelph CEO Alison Crumblehulme. “We won’t be able to manage a hybrid model and do it safely with our previous tools and techniques.”
