Imagine Nation ELC 2022: Practical Solutions to Government Technology Challenges

The theme for this year’s Imagine Nation ELC 2022, sponsored by the American Technology Council and Industry Advisory Council, is moving away from pandemic-related concerns and looking forward to a future that is flexible and adaptable.

“With regards to resilience, response and recovery, we have lessons from the pandemic,” said ACT-IAC chief information officer David Wennergren. “But beyond that, they are also a priority for this administration.

“If you look at the federal IT operations plan, it’s all about improving the customer experience, making progress in IT modernization and cybersecurity, and how to do digital transformation efforts.”

The three-day conference, which begins Sunday at Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pennsylvania, is expected to bring together some 650 government and private sector representatives to share ideas and find new ways to collaborate.

Senior Federal IT Officials Join the Agenda as Speakers

Speakers include Clare Martorana, Federal Chief Information Officer; Robin Carnahan, Administrator of the General Services Administration (and Federal Technology 2022 Influencers); and a team of former government CIOs who will discuss the 20th anniversary of the E-Government Act, one of the first federal laws to recognize the importance of information privacy.

“ELC is our flagship event,” Wennergren said. “We try to address the topics that will be the primary consideration.”

The theme of the conference, “From Progress to Possibilities,” is organized around four directions: finding new solutions to advance government business, investing in the future of the federal workforce, seamlessly delivering government services, and building better products.
