Ewing, NJ –(Business Wire)–Universal Display Corporation (NASDAQ: OLED), enabling energy-efficient displays and lighting with its UniversalPHOLED® technology and materials, announced today that the International Conference on Display Technology (ICDT) Technical Committee has selected Universal Display Corporation’s paper on “Highly Efficient Near-Infrared Phosphorescent OLEDs” to receive the ICDT 2022 Excellent Paper Award. The award is presented to UDC on December 8day During the Virtual 2022 SID Show Week New Technology Review Symposium.

Dr. Zhiqiang Ji of Universal Display Corporation presented a near-infrared phosphorescent OLED (NIR PHOLED) paper virtually at the August Technical Symposium of the International Conference on Display Technology (ICDT) 2022 (International Design Report 2022 in Shanghai). Dr. Ji highlighted the development of a NIR PHOLED with minimal visible light emission, a photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of over 39%, and a record external quantum efficiency of about 9% at a drive current of 10 mA/cm ( EQE)2. The authors of the winning paper are Zhiqiang Ji, Eric Margulies, Pierre-Luc T. Boudreault, Bert Alleyne and Julie J. Brown.
