Move, Alabama. (WKRG) — Take a career-changing leap on tonight’s What’s Working. A Mobile lady opened a new store in the Spring Hill area. It’s called Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. It’s on Old Shell Road.
Candi Herbert, a physical therapist for 25 years, decided to make a change. She visited a Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. store in Oxford, Mississippi, and knew she wanted to open one in Mobile.
“I’ve always been health conscious about what’s going on in my body, what’s going on in my body and what my kids are eating and what they’re eating,” Herbert said.

Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. With over 70 varieties of bar soaps, sugar scrubs, laundry soaps, body washes, body washes, lotions and more. All products are made in-house, which means mixing and pouring is always required. Laundry soap is even ground inside. All products are plant-based and natural. No harsh chemicals.

Shopper Amber Holston loves these products and uses them on herself and her kids.
“I love that all the products are made in Mobile and all are chemical-free. I don’t have to worry about something getting on their skin,” says Holston.
Herbert said her store has been open for a month and she already feels the support of the community. She loves seeing families passing by on Old Shell Road and stopping to draw a body wash. Crowds of teenagers stopped to smell her products. She even had birthday parties where the kids made body wash.

She said she was glad she decided to change careers.
“Having been in the medical field for 25 years, jumping into business was scary. It was a scary step. I felt like Indiana Jones when he was standing there with his hat on his chest ready to take that step ,’ said Herbert. “In physical therapy, my job is to help people understand their bodies, and I still feel like I’m doing that in this field. Our skin is our largest organ, and we need to protect it.”

Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. Located at 4504 Old Shell Rd Suite C. The store will have its grand opening tomorrow, January 14th.
