NILES – A fire ripped through a restaurant and bar on Robbins Avenue early Friday, wreaking havoc.
Rodney Freel of the Captain Niles Fire Department said crews arrived at Dragon’s Den Bar and Grill in the 2700 block around 3:30 a.m. The roofline of the building caught fire, Freel said.
At that time, the store was closed and there was no one in it. Crews were there for three hours and suffered minor injuries — a firefighter broke his hand, Freer said.
The road was closed as firefighters battled the blaze but reopened around 6.30am
The cause of the fire has not been determined and the investigation continues, Freer said.
