Agtech startup hackathon starts Friday

The City of Escondido and Fresh Brewed Tech hosted an agtech startup hackathon, bringing together farmers, technologists, community leaders, engineers and others to better understand agricultural and food system problems and develop solutions. The hackathon runs from Friday to October. 23 In the Collaborative Work Center, 140 N. Escondido Blvd. Come up with an idea and learn how to take it to business; check out the new potential Escondido AgTech incubator; meet and collaborate with some of the region’s agtech entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders. Tickets for October are free. 23 competitions, $15 for Friday social events from 3-5pm, $99 for the entire weekend hackathon. Content creation is the topic of the workshop

“Content Creation Crash Course,” part of the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce’s Modern Marketing Lunch & Learn Series, will be held on October 11th at 11:30am. 25 at the Fallbrook Regional Health District Community Health and Wellness Center, 1636 E. On October 8th at 8 a.m., the North San Diego Chamber of Commerce Emerging Leaders Network Advisory Council hosted a virtual Leadership Academy workshop titled “Navigating Work-Life Balance.” 26. Offers romance editing workshops

The San Diego Professional Editors Network is hosting a virtual seminar Saturday at 10 a.m., “Breaking Into Romance Editing: Dos and Don’ts, Dos and Don’ts, and Everything in Between.” The workshop will be led by Gwyn Jordan, founder of Gold Dust Literary Agency, Gold Dust Editing & Book Reviews and storytelling platform FiBs. Brewery hosts event to help with dog rescues

The Second Chance Beer Company in Mount Carmel will host its third annual Murder Mystery Beer Pairing Dinner on October 7th at 7pm. 27. Admission $60 includes four beer tastings, a three-course meal by Chef Joann Customized Catering, and an interactive murder mystery game. This year’s festivities have a pirate theme. SCORE offers training seminars

SCORE San Diego Volunteers are experienced entrepreneurs, managers and executives from a variety of industries and professions who assist in small business training workshops. For $25, customers can attend the two- to three-hour workshop in person at SCORE San Diego, 8825 Aero Drive, Suite 102, San Diego or Zoom; a PDF of the presentation; and a link to the final workshop video.
