Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmadler said the shooter was shot and killed by officers.
“There is evidence that, with the cartridge casings, he entered the target and was firing,” Schmaderer said.
No civilians were injured in the incident, Schmadrell said.
Omaha police said initial investigations indicated that the suspect, a white male, fired multiple rounds from an AR-15-style rifle.
A review of police scanner traffic indicated the suspected shooter was dead six minutes after the first call for help.
There is currently no indication how many shots were fired, the identity of the shooter, or his relationship, if any, to the store.
Omaha police said detectives and forensic technicians will examine the scene Tuesday night.
