‘OVRCC 350’ Membership Event | Vermont Business Journal

Building communities one business at a time

Vermont Business Journal The Okemo Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors recently approved a new organization-wide membership development initiative, “OVRCC 350,” with the goal of reaching 350 members within the next two years. The Chamber currently has about 300 members. Those who are interested can register online here: https://www.yourplaceinvermont.com/online-application/

This work is engaging the entire Okemo Valley Chamber of Commerce organization in retaining and recruiting new members, including not only the Executive Director, Director of Member Services, Membership Committee and Board of Directors, but the entire OVRCC membership. The plan was developed based on feedback from board and committee members and the ongoing efforts of the organization. This work will begin immediately and continue through the fourth quarter of 2022, with other activities planned for 2023.

Existing Chamber members are encouraged to invite their existing suppliers, customers, affiliates, family and friends to become members of the Okemo Valley Chamber of Commerce if they are not already a member. They can also recruit them by inviting them to a Chamber Mixer or a local coffee talk to learn more about the organization.

Some of the benefits available to Chamber members include: co-marketing/promotion, member discounts, savings on dental and vision insurance plans, discounts on local Epic Merchant Passes, networking and publicity, and special Chamber events. All employees of a business that is a member of the general chamber of commerce are also considered members of the chamber of commerce. Chamber member businesses can offer prospective employees some of these chamber membership benefits as a competitive advantage in recruiting and retaining employees.

The Chamber of Commerce has a variety of membership categories: Business (According to the number of employees), non-profit (organization or municipality), entrepreneurial (home and farm), and alone (Retirees and Second Home Owners). There are also affordable Subsidiaries If there are different businesses in different classes or locations under the same ownership, they are classified as members.

In order to be considered for full membership of the Okemo Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, a business or organization must hold a professional license or be registered with the Vermont Secretary of State, and/or possess a federal taxpayer ID. A business or organization must support the chamber of commerce, embody the spirit of the chamber’s mission statement, and demonstrate a desire to promote and support the chamber’s activities.

We are very grateful to all our existing members and welcome new members to our organization. With a goal of #350 members, we will be a stronger Chamber of Commerce in the Okemo Valley area! For more information, please contact us at info@yourplaceinvermont.com or 802-228-5830.
