“We’re proud to be a part of Women in Trucking – we share the organization’s vision to empower women in the industry.” – Spencer Barkoff, Co-Founder, Relay Payments

Relay Payments, a fintech company modernizing payments for the supply chain, logistics and freight industries, is one of three finalists for the inaugural Women in Freight Technology Innovation Award. Women in Trucking (WIT) is a non-profit organization that empowers women in the trucking industry by promoting their achievements and minimizing barriers they may encounter. The WIT Technology Innovation Awards recognize technological achievements that advance the freight industry, especially the inclusion of women.

“At Relay, we know that technology can remove barriers that prevent women from working in the trucking industry, while helping them feel safer. We hear countless female drivers appreciate our touchless technology because it minimizes frustrating interactions And removes friction, whether they’re paying or trying to find a safe parking spot at 3am,” said Relay co-founder Spencer Barkoff. “We’re proud to be part of Women in Trucking – we share the organization’s vision to empower women in the industry.”

Relay has rapidly grown into a force in the global supply chain and freight industry. Launched in 2019, the Atlanta-based company aims to help transform digital payments with a focus on making life easier for drivers. Relay’s technology solves the frustrating problem of unloading times in warehouses, where drivers can wait hours to get approved for cash or fleet check payments to pay slobs. This reliance on cash and paper checks can lead to inefficiencies and fraud, so Relay has introduced a fully digital, secure and contactless payment solution to eliminate these problems. Relay’s mobile app was quickly adopted, and truckers fell in love with it because it increased service time and revenue potential per load.

Today, more than 300,000 truck drivers use Relay’s mobile app for on-the-road payments, and nearly every warehouse in the United States participates in their payment network.

This recognition by the Women in Trucking is the latest in a series of honors Relay has received for its innovation and culture. Other recent awards include being named to the FreightTech 100, Fast Company’s Most Innovative Company and Inc Magazine’s Best Place to Work.
