Rockford nonprofit sees ‘big’ donations, business partnerships with local banks

Rockford, Illinois (WIFR) – A local nonprofit sees generous donations and important business partnerships that will fuel entrepreneurship in Rockford

Midland State Bank donated $20,000 to Rockford nonprofit Think Big while hosting a financial empowerment session for community members.

Think Big promotes women and minority businesses through mentoring and networking opportunities, such as an annual expo.

“This project is an effective way to invest in the Rockford community and its women and minority businesses,” commented Martesha Brown, Director of Community Economic Development for Midland State Bank. “We are excited to continue working with the organization to invest in entrepreneurial and small business development.”

Midland is also one of the lead sponsors of the “Legalize Business” 2023 Think Big Expo, which focuses on bringing in-person opportunities to women and minority business leaders by connecting with industry professionals in Illinois.

“We are grateful to Midland States Bank for this gift and are excited to have them as an ongoing partner in growing entrepreneurship in the Rockford area,” said Dr. Midland States Bank.
