Rocky River, Ohio — The Rocky River Chamber of Commerce hits another home run at the 2022 Business Expo.
Expo 2020 and 2021 have been postponed due to COVID-19. Executive Director Angela Barth said they began planning for Expo 2020 in 2019; at that time, the Expo was in its 18th year. It draws crowds from all over Northeast Ohio every year.
This year, the World Expo was held in October. 13 Umerley Civic Centre on Rocky River. Eighty-two exhibitors filled the center, and hundreds of visitors came to see what local businesses had to offer.
“There’s no better place to experience the power of face-to-face communication and expand your network,” said Ellen Gorski, chairman of the Expo Committee.
This must be true as the business cards are flying back and forth across each booth/table at an astonishing rate.
These businesses represent everything from home improvement, banking and food to education, cable television and assisted living. In fact, in the Rocky River region, you can find almost any business you can name.
A major consideration for hosting a large event at the location is parking. Although the center itself has a large car park, Barth made sure to have free off-site parking in St. Petersburg. Thomas Lutheran Church is at the end of the road and there are shuttle buses running non-stop.
As a bonus, “all exhibitors and attendees using the shuttle entered a sweepstakes to win prizes,” Bart said.
It looks like business is doing well in Rocky River and the surrounding area. We might be able to bet on a bigger expo next year.
