The U.S. Small Business Administration is accepting nominations for 2023 awards, including Connecticut Small Business Person of the Year.
Individuals or organizations committed to supporting the community may nominate individuals. Individuals can also self-nominate.
Eligibility requirements include legal U.S. residents who own 51% of the small business and have operated the business for at least three years.
The person must also get some form of help from the SBA.
The nomination deadline is December. August 8, 2022.
Bare Life CEO Ali Lazowski (who was named Micro Business of the Year in 2022) and Denise Whitford, business advisor to the Connecticut Small Business Development Center, are moderating discussions to share advice on nomination submissions.
The event will take place on October 25th from 12pm to 1pm.
Viron Rondo or Viron Rondo Osteria of Cheshire takes the award in 2022.
“It’s important to recognize these exceptional entrepreneurs in Connecticut because they are job creators, innovators, and the fabric of our local communities,” said SBA Connecticut Regional Director Kathryn Marx.
The SBA will be celebrating National Small Business Week 2023 from April 30 to May 6.
