Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested After Hiding at Pacific Company

PACIFIC (Crown), Calif. — A domestic violence suspect was arrested in the Pacific on Sunday after leading a police pursuit, the Pacific Police Department said. Darien Diaz, a 29-year-old San Francisco resident, was detained at a business after police said the chase lasted an hour and a half.

Police first responded to Inverness Drive, near Glencourt Way, about 7.30am to report a domestic disturbance in a parked vehicle. PPD said Diaz fled police on foot after they tried to contact him.

Police have learned that Diaz was involved in a “physical domestic dispute” and injured another person involved.

A community member then called police dispatch to report the suspicious person on Manor Drive. Police found Diaz, but he escaped again and made his way through several backyards, police said. PPD coordinated with Daly City Police Department and San Bruno Police Department and used drones to try to locate Diaz.

Later, officials were told that Diaz had entered a closed business on Oceana Boulevard.San Bruno police responded with K9 units and arrested him around 9:00 a.m.

Diaz was charged with domestic violence injury, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threat, false imprisonment, violation of a domestic violence court order and resisting/obstructing/delaying police. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact PPD at (650) 738-7314.
