Elina Babkina receives VSU School of Business Excellence Award

Elina Aleksandrovna Babkina of Conyers, Georgia, is the recipient of Harley Langdale Jr.’s Fall 2022 Presidential Award for Academic Excellence. Valdosta State University School of Business Administration. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, a Minor in Business Analysis, a Minor in Accounting and an Honors College Certificate.

The President’s Award for Academic Excellence is presented to the outstanding graduate of each of VSU’s six colleges – Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, College of Arts, James L. and Dorothy H. Dewar College of Education and Human Services, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Science and Mathematics.

Babkina to be recognized during VSU’s 234th Saturday, December 30 at 4:30 pm. 10. On the front lawn. She will graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, a Minor in Business Analysis, a Minor in Accounting and an Honors College Certificate.

“I remember coming to VSU thinking I wanted to be a biology major and then realizing my heart wasn’t in it,” she shared. “I changed my major to something I was more interested in and could foresee myself doing in the future – economics. From there I added a finance major, a business analysis minor and an accounting minor. I can’t seem to get the Enough business. It’s crazy to think about how I believed I wanted to study biology and now that I’m one of the top business graduates at VSU. I think it all shows the importance of being open to following your passion sex.”

A student at VSU, Babkina has served as Secretary of the Honors Student Society, Vice President of Beta Gamma Sigma: The International Business Honor Society, and Vice President of the Langdale FinTech Society.

Babkina’s commitment to scholarship and leadership excellence has resulted in her being named an Honorary Scholar and Zell Miller Scholar, and a multiple recipient of Dean’s List honors, Harley Langdale Jr. School of Business Administration 2022 Distinguished Economics Award and 2021 Georgian Bay Sulphur Finance Scholarship.

After graduation, Babkina plans to start her career at Fidelity Information Services in Atlanta as a Risk Insights Analyst.

Her supportive family includes parents Irina Babkina and Aleksander Babkina.
